ECML Kontaktpunkt Danmark afholder sin femte nationale konference Sprog på Kryds og Tværs d. 25. september 2018 på Københavns Professionshøjskole i København. Dette års titel er Didaktiske perspektiver i lyset af den nye nationale sprogstrategi. Vi har inviteret Prof. Oliver Meyer fra Johannes Gutenberg-Universität i Tyskland som keynote speaker. Han vil holde et oplæg om A Pluriliteracies Approach to Teaching for Deeper Learning (provisional title).

På årets konference vil der være tre fokuspunkter:

- brobygning

- lokale sprogstrategier

- sprog som tillægskompetence

Keynote speaker: Oliver Meyer

Pluriliteracies: Pedagogies for Deeper Learning and Personal Growth

             

Abstract

Pluriliteracies Teaching for Learning (PTL) constitutes a relatively recent development in Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). This approach has been developed to provide pathways for deeper learning across languages, disciplines and cultures by focusing on the development of disciplinary or subject specific literacies. Deeper learning - by which I understand the successful internalization of conceptual knowledge and the automatization of subject specific procedures/skills and strategies – is currently considered to occur only if learners are taught how to express their knowledge appropriately and in an increasingly complex and subject adequate manner.

In this presentation, I would like to introduce the revised Pluriliteracies Model for Deeper Learning and discuss challenges of putting this approach into practice

I will introduce the five core principles of PTL. An analysis of classroom materials for different age groups will show teachers how to create learner progressions in order make deeper learning happen and to take  (CLIL) learning to the next level.

I will look at scaffolding for learners, multimodality, assessment, and teaching tools in CLIL. Emphasis is on integration and differentiation of students with diverse skills in the target language and different mother tongues.
